Hello WSES families! Hope you had a wonderful summer!
We are looking for volunteers to become room parents. As a homeroom parent, you will be able to meet your child’s classmates, experience your child’s interactions with their teacher and peers and, always be meeting new people and forming new friendship.
All parents and guardians are encouraged to volunteer. It is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to your child’s classroom and allow their teacher to focus on teaching our little ones. Homeroom parents help to set up volunteers for events in the classroom (ie. class parties and special activites) and coordinate communication between the PTA, faculty and parents. This may include things like creating sign up forms on Volunteer Spot and helping with plans for Teacher Apprecation week.
Please remember, being a room parent does NOT mean you are signing up to be in the classroom for every event or volunteer for every activity. We know that parents have varying schedules and are available at different times. The primary need is for assitance in communication between the teacher and classroom parents and in making sure that parents are aware of upcoming events at the school.
Additionally, please keep in mind, that we can have room parent co-chairs who can help one another and divvy up responsibilities.
Of course, we are available to help you whenever we can. We will provide sample forms & letters for the majority of your communication. We we also send you fliers and information on upcoming events. Most of the time, when it comes to communication, you will simply cut and paste into your email list.
Please fill out the form below if you are interested in being a roomparent and we will contact you and answer any questions. Thank you so much for helping us with this important role at WSES! We are so appreciative of your help and support!
