Subs "R" Us is a WSES PTA program that uses parent volunteers to help out in the classroom.  Volunteers are required to attend a quick, one time, one-hour training to participate in this program.  You can attend the training at any of the elementary schools, but you will only be contacted to volunteer at Walnut Springs.

 

Michelle Organ, our Subs "R" Us coordinator, will email Subs "R" Us volunteers with dates and times in which subs are needed. Primarily, Subs "R" Us are used when teachers have meetings, testing, or group work lunches.  Times and dates vary with a maximum sub time of three hours.  For instance, one of the monthly Subs "R" Us opportunities is when the WSE PTA holds Executive Board Meetings, on the first Friday of every month, that begin at 8:00 and last approximately one hour. Teachers will have plans ready for the parent to use while subbing, making filling in simple and easy to do! 

 

The Subs "R" Us Program is highly beneficial to the school and it is a great way to be involved on campus and get to know staff, teachers and other students.  Parents can choose to serve for their children’s teacher, grade level, or just fill in wherever needed.
