Classroom Volunteers
Interested in volunteering with your child’s class? Classroom Volunteers work closely with teachers/staff and includes roles like Room Parents, Thursday Folder volunteers, Classroom Party Coordinators, Teacher-specific Volunteers (as requested), and more! It can be a busy job but very rewarding.
These are great for people who like to get to know teachers/school staff, support their student in the classroom, and get to know other parents. They also provide training opportunities for anyone interested in leadership roles within the PTA. Except for party coordinators, these roles are year-round and some can be managed mostly remotely/from home, with occasional visits to school.

Yearbook Co-Chair
Our yearbook is created through two co-chair roles that are equally important but focus on different parts of the process. We are currently looking for someone to shadow our current production co-chair this year and help carry this important role forward.
This role centers on the behind-the-scenes production and management of the yearbook. Responsibilities include working in TreeRing throughout the year, managing teacher and staff names, monitoring and organizing orders, maintaining yearbook templates, designing and setting up pages, and creating the “plug-and-play” layouts that make it easier for photos and content to be added. It also involves tracking the many details, systems, and deadlines that help ensure the yearbook comes together smoothly and accurately.
You will work alongside Kenna Hamm, whose role focuses primarily on photography and content. Kenna is often on campus capturing photos throughout the school year, then uploading and placing those photos into the pre-designed TreeRing pages and templates. Her focus is making sure school events, students, teachers, and activities are well represented in the yearbook.
Porsha, our current production co-chair, has led the yearbook for eight years and has built a tremendous amount of knowledge about the systems, processes, and behind-the-scenes details that make it all work. Since her child is graduating from Walnut Springs this year, we are hoping to find someone who can learn from her now, preserve that knowledge, and help ensure a smooth transition for future yearbook teams.
If you are interested or would like to learn more, please email yearbook@wsepta.com.
